Fresh Water.
Usage.
Get to know or at least estimate your usage of fresh water. This is not as difficult as it sounds. What you don't want - is to be running out of water at some critical time. Perhaps miles away from civilization, with no water in sight. For example - our fresh water tank holds about 210 litres. With the four of us we have found (we are frugal users), that we use about 20 litres a day. This means we can go for about ten days before needing to fill up again. We also know, without thinking too much about it, when we will need to top up. Fill up Find out where you can fill up with drinkable water. In our limited experience, there are some municipal car parks which have an accessable water point and hose. Many garages have similar. Don't be afraid to ask around. We were parked in a municipal car park for several weeks before we found we could fill up right in the same car park - without driving to the closest garage which held water. Washing up When you wash up after a meal, use a washing up bowl rather than the rv sink. This way you will use less water, and when you are done, you could simply dump the used washing up water by the nearest tree - discreetly of course. This way you are not filling up your grey water tank as much as you would otherwise. |
